Education Content Writing: A Few Tips and Tricks

Quality content always plays an important role in digital marketing. That’s because it helps to generate genuine leads which also have a significant chances of getting converted into potential customers.

Write an eye-catching headline

This is the most significant part of your article. Your headline determines the fact whether your audience is going to read your content or not.

You have to remember that you have probably only a few seconds to catch the attention of the reader. Your headline’s your only weapon.

A tip to remember. Try to give solutions in your headline to make it more eye-catching.

Your first impression depends on your first 3 sentences

I said previously the headline’s the most important part of a content which is true. Your first three sentences also play a similar role to that of your headline in terms of significance.

If you want to keep your reader hooked, you have to make those 3 sentences exciting. Ask yourself this question- what do the reader feels after reading those 3 sentences? Can s/he sees any hint of solution. If you feel that s/he gets the hint of a solution, you are on the right track.

Give at least one significant message through your article

Before delving right into the writing, it’s necessary for you to research first and find out what unique message can you give through the article?

Is it such that students will be benefitted tremendously as a whole? If your answer’s “yes”, you are again going down the right track.

Your educational content should be made in a unique voice of its own

Your content is the voice of the institute you represent. You MUST represent its personality.

Keep your writing tone aligned to your target users and subscribed readers. You must also try and give it an original voice of its own. Keep it richly informative such that benefits students in a general sense.

Content Optimization is necessary

Carefully optimized content are easy to comprehend and easy to read. Hence, you MUST optimize your articles for the benefit of your readers.

Some of the best ways to do that are to include:

  • Short paragraphs,

  • Short sentences,

  • Bulleted lists.

You must also keep SEP in mind. Based on that you should optimize your article carefully to get a higher SERP (search engine results page) ranking.

Final revision

After compiling the entire draft of your matter, it’s necessary for you to go back and give it a thorough check-up from the top to the bottom.

Think of various ways through which you can polish your article. Is a comma missing over there or is that a semicolon? Fix those issues if you find any.

Your final matter should shape up after two or three rounds of editing.

  • Write short sentences. An average sentence should ideally have around 6-12 words. It might vary though depending on the circumstances.

  • Write simple and short paragraphs. No paragraph should ideally have more than 3 to 4 sentences at most.

  • Divide your article into subheadings. A 500 word article should have around 6-7 subheadings. A 1000 word content should have double that amount. It can vary though.

  • DO NOT stuff keywords.

  • Your content should be interactive. It should look as if you’re talking to the reader.

  • Write well researched, factual and informative write ups to get maximum engagement and credibility.

  • Be FUNNY if possible.

  • A section of bulleted points need to be included somewhere in your article. Try to include one if possible.

  • Lastly, DO NOT promote anything and DO NOT sell anything. It’s not a sales advertisement; it’s an educational content.

  • A 500 word article should ideally have around 12-15 paragraphs. A 1000 word article should double the amount.
